We made it a priority to cross "see wild flamingos" off our list of "things to do in life" while on this trip, so traipsing through the Salinas (muddy salt ponds) was an automatic YES for us. We lost a flip-flop and ruined a dress on our adventure but we saw our "flamboyance" of flamingos.
